Belfast Design Week celebrates design in all its forms in an annual week-long series of events encompassing talks, workshops, pop-ups, exhibitions and interactive elements focusing on design.
The Blick Academy workshops are insights into different parts of creativity and entrepreneurship. Previous workshop topics have included Crowdfunding, Zine-Making and Planning Ahead for the Festive Season.
At Share 6, 6 creative speakers share their stories over 60 minutes on a theme with an audience Q&A at the end. Previous topics have included “Fashioning the future,” “Made in Northern Ireland” and “Going against the grain.”

Eighty81 Club for Creative Startups is a community for startups, entrepreneurs and small businesses in Derry-Londonderry. It is a series of events including workshops, clinics and case studies with industry professionals sharing their skills and knowledge to help support creative and digital industry startups.
The Graduate Entrepreneurs in Residence programme in Belfast and Derry-Londonderry is designed to support newly graduated designers to develop their business ideas with the help of free studio space and mentorship from an industry expert.
Exhibitions at Blick include “The Art of the Comic” and “Failures” and aim to support creativity through showcasing local talent and highlighting important areas within creativity and entrepreneurship.
25 is a design-led pop up showcasing and retailing independent design brands with products all priced at £25 or under, make it affordable too. 25 Pop Up has been in Blick Shared Studios, Eighty81 Creative Workspace, Indigo Coffee & Gelato and Victoria Square.
The Design Business Bootcamp is a short course with a leading design expert to develop design startups and give them the support and ideas for the next steps of their businesses.
Design Startup is an introduction to three of the key elements of getting your business off the ground – ideation, prototyping and selling your work. This series of taster workshops allows startups to start planning these elements for their own business idea.
