Wia secure funding & Dublin HQ

We are excited to announce that Belfast-based software business and Blick residents Wia have received investment from NDRC . The investment will see Wia setting up their headquarters in Dublin and taking part in the NDRC LaunchPad programme.
Founder and CEO of Wia Conall Laverty said,
“The LaunchPad programme gives us the opportunity to develop our company and continually innovate on our business model. With the amazing network of mentors and advisors, NDRC is ‘the best place to start’ (there’s even a giant banner inside the building that says that!).”
Notable startups who have gone through the LaunchPad programme include:
Sound wave (Recently acquired by Spotify), Boxever (Just completed a Series B funding round for $12m bringing their total funding to $19m) and Logentries (Acquired by Rapid7 for $68m).
We asked Conall what tips he would give to those approaching investors:
“If you’re talking to VC’s that’s great, but don’t expect them to invest in you if you haven’t proven your business model i.e. generated revenue or gained significant traction. Remember that an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is ‘the product with the highest return on investment versus risk’.”
Wia are currently hiring Node.js developers. Developers can find Wia on GitHub & Twitter. They will also be releasing a ‘Snippets’ section in their blog very soon which will give coders a nice intro to their system!
A big congratulations to Wia from everyone at Blick Shared Studios and best of luck on the next phase of your business!
