Blick Shared Studios is a social enterprise established with the aim of bringing together creative professionals from varied backgrounds to form a cross discipline, supportive organisation for small and start-up businesses within Northern Ireland.
In January 2008, upon receiving support from Belfast City Council and the University of Ulster, Blick established an incubation centre on the Malone Road. Within this centre Blick provides incubation workspace and specialist communal facilities including presentation equipment, meeting room, seminar room and exhibition space. Blick Studios was recognised as a project of Best Practice by representatives from Europe who visited Blick after providing funding towards the project. Blick Studios is a registered charity (Number XT24456).
Currently there are 15 businesses based at Blick.
Blick’s aims are to:
- Bring together creative professionals from a variety of backgrounds to form a
cohesive and united creative network
- Supply affordable incubation desk or work space to suit a wide variety of businesses/individuals
- Create a sense of community that will provide ongoing encouragement and support
- Assist businesses or individuals in networking, building their profiles and
developing their careers
- Offer business development events tailored to Blick tenant’s individual and collective business needs
- Aid businesses or individuals with creative and business development
and relationships through the use of specialists
- Provide members with the opportunity to showcase their work individually and collectively
- Give members the chance to network, market and promote collectively, using
mutual contacts to work, grow and develop
- Supply members with an increasing range of specialist facilities and equipment
- Socially and economically benefit the local and creative community
- Increase the economic prosperity of Belfast through the development
of the creative industries
